How you learn

  1. 01

    Short lessons, written by hand

Sixteen kinds of exercise, every word spoken aloud, and a short call with Sofía at the end of every chapter. Lessons work offline.

  2. 02

Chat with Sofía and the characters

Type or send a voice message. They reply in the language you are learning, at your level, and fix your mistakes without stopping the conversation.

  3. 03

    Video call your tutor

Talk to Sofía face to face with live captions and a hint one tap away. Try five short calls for free; Pro gives you up to 25 minutes a day.

Good to know

The first two chapters teach hiragana and then katakana (194 characters), so you can read before you speak. Kanji arrive from A2. You learn the polite です and ます forms first, which is what you need with people you have just met.
