Learn languages by talking.

Pick a language for the greeting
  1. Sofía: ¡Hola! ¿Qué tal tu día? (Hi! How’s your day going?)
  2. You: Hoy yo es muy cansado. Corrected: estoy, not es.
  3. Sofía: ¿Estás cansado? Yo también. ¿Dormiste poco? (You’re tired? Me too. Not much sleep?)
  4. Hint: Try saying: Sí, necesito un café. (Yes, I need a coffee.)
  5. You: Sí, necesito un café.
  6. Sofía: ¡Buena idea! Café primero, español después. (Good idea! Coffee first, Spanish second.)

How it works

From your first hello to your first real conversation.

  1. Flowzy Talk’s lesson path: Unit 1, Greetings and Politeness, with the next lesson marked “You are here”.

    Real CEFR levels, starting at your first hello. Sixteen kinds of exercise, every word spoken aloud, lessons that work offline, and a short call with Sofía at the end of every chapter.

    Every chapter ends with a call.

  2. A chat with Sofía in Spanish: the learner’s messages in orange bubbles and her replies with the corrections.

    Message Sofía or any character by text or voice. They reply in the language you’re learning, at your level, and fix your mistakes without stopping the conversation.

    She says it right back, then keeps chatting.

  3. A videocall with Sofía in her room, her words captioned at the bottom of the screen above the call controls.

    Talk to Sofía face to face. Live captions follow her voice, a hint is one tap away, and you can read the whole call back afterwards. Try five short calls for free; Pro gives you up to 25 minutes a day.

    Stuck? Tap the bulb.

  4. The streak screen: a 12 day streak flame above a calendar of the month.

    One streak across every language you learn, a plan built from your course, and a reminder only if you ask for one.

    One flame. Every language.

Tutor energy

Sweet Sofía. Or absolutely savage.

Tutor energy
Sofía in her sunlit room, smiling into the camera
  1. You: Ayer yo voy al cine. Corrected: fui, not yo voy.
  2. Sofía: ¡Qué bien! ¿Fuiste al cine ayer? ¿Qué película viste? (Nice! You went to the movies yesterday? What did you see?)

Warm and encouraging. She fixes things by saying them right back to you, celebrates the small wins and never makes a mistake feel like a failure.

Your characters

Talk to your crush. Or your boss.

Nine characters, each with their own voice and personality. Every one of them speaks whichever language you’re learning, at your level.

Oye… ¿me vas a invitar a un café o tengo que pedirlo yo? ;) Hey… are you going to buy me a coffee, or do I have to ask? ;)

Story journeys: go on dates with Nina in the language you’re learning. Choose what to say, hear the world around you, and see where it goes.

  1. Meeting Nina
  2. A regular
  3. A walk
  4. The café date
  5. What you like

Or make your own.

What learners say about Flowzy Talk.

“I used to rehearse one sentence in my head for ages. Now I just say it. Not always perfectly lol but I actually speak.”

@Sarahh12

“The calls are a bit scary at first but in a good way. Did 10 mins before work every day and it really helped.”

@mika_92

“Honestly surprised by how natural the conversation feels. I went totally off topic and Sofia just went with it.”

@JulesB

“Really good for speaking practice. Would love a few more voice options but I use it almost every evening.”

@rodrigo.s

“Had my first full chat with my boyfriend’s mum in Spanish. I got stuck twice but didn’t panic!!”

@NinaLearns

“Corrections come at the right time and don’t kill the conversation. That was my issue with actual classes.”

@tom_v

“Devious mode called my grammar a crime scene 😭 I haven’t made that mistake since.”

@LuisaM

“I was scared of speaking. Not anymore. Still make lots of mistakes but at least now I keep going.”

@kenji.t

“Been using this on my commute for three weeks. Yesterday someone asked me directions and I answered without translating first.”

@amelie_rose

“Very useful and way less awkward than finding a language partner. Sometimes it speaks a little fast for me.”

@daan030

“Finally an app where I talk instead of tapping words in the right order. The phone call thing is my favorite part.”

@PriyaS

“15 minutes here and there adds up. My teacher asked what I’d changed because I sound much more confident now.”

Questions

Questions, answered.

Still wondering? Write to us at talk@flowzy.ai.

  • Is Flowzy Talk really free?

    Yes. It’s free to download and free to use every day: 5 lessons a day, chat with every character, your full word list with spaced review, and Savage mode. There are no ads anywhere in the app, ever. You can also try five short videocalls with Sofía for free. Pro removes the daily lesson limit and adds up to 25 minutes of videocalls a day and Practice Mistakes.

  • What does Pro include, and what does it cost?

    Pro gives you unlimited lessons, up to 25 minutes of videocalls with Sofía or Capi every day (as many calls as you like), unlimited chapter calls and Practice Mistakes, where Sofía walks you through the things you recently got wrong. It comes monthly or yearly, with a free trial for eligible new subscribers. Prices depend on your country and your store, and the app shows the exact price before you pay. You can cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play settings.

  • Which languages can I learn, and up to what level?

    Ten: Spanish (Latin America) from A1 to C2; German, Japanese, American English, Korean, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese from A1 to C1; and our newest, Russian and Arabic, from A1 to B1. The American English course is explained in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and many more languages; the others are explained in English. You can switch languages any time and keep your progress in each. The app itself is available in 21 languages.

  • Is Sofía a real person?

    No. Sofía, Capi and the other characters are AI. They listen, answer out loud in their own voices and correct you as you go, but they are software, and the app says so. The lessons themselves are written by hand by our team, following the CEFR levels.

  • I get nervous speaking. Can a total beginner really start by talking?

    That’s exactly what it’s built for. You start at A1 with your first hello, with a tutor who never runs out of patience and no other person on the line. Sofía speaks inside the vocabulary you’ve actually been taught, explains things in your own language, and every chapter ends with a short call about exactly what you just learned. If you already know some, placement tests let you skip ahead.

  • What is Savage mode?

    An optional switch that makes Sofía sarcastic about your mistakes, and she remembers the ones you keep making. The joke is always on the mistake, never on you, and every jab comes with the correction. It’s free, and it stays off until you turn it on.

  • Does it work on my phone, and offline?

    Flowzy Talk is for iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later) and Android phones with Google Play. Lessons download to your phone with their audio, so you can keep going on a plane or underground. Chats and calls need a connection.

  • What happens to my voice recordings?

    They’re deleted as soon as they’ve been transcribed. We keep the text so your conversation makes sense, not the audio. The app has no ads and no tracking SDK, and you can delete your account in the app at any time. The details are in our privacy policy.

Stop rehearsing. Start talking.
